About Spike's Sewing Machine Service
A Lifelong Journey with Machines
Education and Service
After studying Theater Arts at Longwood College, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a CH-47 Chinook helicopter mechanic and Flight Engineer.
My service continued into the tech world, where I contributed to early projects that evolved into today’s World Wide Web and climbed the ranks in the Information Technology industry.
A Shift to Sewing Machines
The last 15 years have seen my interest in sewing machines grow, inspired by my wife’s quilting career and the need for competent service technicians. My passion for Vintage Sewing Machines, especially the cosmetic design of Vintage Japanese machines, mirrors my appreciation for classic cars from the same era. The classic lines and gloss black with gold accents of the Vintage Singers and White Rotary machines makes my heart sing each time I bring one back to its original beauty.
